Q1 2024 Snapshot: Top Music and Podcasts Apps on Android in Europe

In the first quarter of 2024, Europe's Android users have shown their preferences when it comes to streaming music and podcasts. Data from Sensor Tower offers a look into the performance of the top applications in this category.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts has maintained a strong presence, with revenue trending upwards from $1.01M to $1.22M over the quarter. Downloads showed a slight fluctuation, peaking at 320K in mid-February. Weekly active users consistently remained above 63M, hitting a high of nearly 64.7M towards the end of March.

Deezer: Music & Podcast Player, another major player, also saw a revenue rise, particularly notable in late February where it reached $506K. Downloads hovered around the 30K to 40K mark, while weekly active users slightly dipped from 4.99M to 4.88M.

SoundCloud: Play Music & Songs experienced a varied revenue trend with a significant spike to $106K also in late February. Downloads for the app were robust, especially in the last week of February with 110K new users. The platform's weekly active users showed a steady pattern, maintaining around 2.9M to 3M users throughout the quarter.

Apple Music displayed a stable revenue pattern with an upturn towards the end of the quarter, reaching $87K. Download numbers for Apple Music peaked at 81K in early February, while the active user base fluctuated, with a peak at 1.1M in early February before settling back to just under 1M.

Lastly, Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts saw its revenue growing from $53K to $80K over the quarter. The app's downloads showed an initial drop in January, but regained momentum in March with close to 70K downloads. Weekly active users showed a slight decline from 2.09M to 1.99M.
